Job Openings

Teach what you’ve spent years learning to make.

The Austin School of Furniture is a nonprofit shop run by woodworkers. Local instructors and guest teachers lead our classes, volunteers teach our Community Classes, and a small staff and board keep the doors open. If you’d like to be one of them, tell us what you make.

The school, exploded

A bench needs every one of its parts.

So does a school. Pick a part to see where it sits, and what that person does here. Whichever one sounds like you, the next step is the same: write to us.

What gets taught here

From a $60 owl box to a $1,425 rocker.

One afternoon or seven Tuesday evenings, every class is a seat at a bench with a woodworker teaching it. Here’s some of what’s on the calendar now, so you can picture yours on it.

Yeehaw, you’re still reading
